You may use the following claims for this activity.
It would have been harder for life to evolve today than on
Primitive Earth
 There are very few places on Earth today that are like
Primitive Earth.
[3 minutes] DO NOW: What are vestigial structures? Give an
example of one.
[2 minutes] Discussion of do now.
[30 minutes] Lesson: Students will learn about evolution and
the origin of life.
[15 minutes] Using Evidence Four Corners. As a follow up,
have students write an exit slip about what they have learned
from the activity.
[5 minutes] Closing/ Summary and discussion of homework.
 Before this activity has taken place, students would have
learned about evidence of evolution
 It would take about 15 minutes.
 This activity would take place at the end of the period
and be a review of what was covered today. After this
lesson, students will learn about evolution by natural
selection and modern evolutionary theory.
This is a standard Using Evidence Four Corners Activity.
This activity could be followed by a Mini-Paragraph Writing
Activity to include a writing component.
