Provides direct patient care to pre- and post-operative patients either ambulatory, inpatients or
emergency service patient.
Delivers care to pediatric, adult and geriatric populations.
Patient care includes but is not limited to tracheostomy care, suctioning, PEG and NGT care and
feedings, IV therapy, blood work and IV insertions, Foley catheter care, patient teaching,
assessment and care for donor and graft sites, assuring and assessing tissue survival.

with Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator Flaps (DIEP), Inferior Gluteal Artery Perforator (IGAP)
and head and neck cancer patients who undergo tissue transfers with micro-vascular anastomosis.
Plastic surgery post-operative care. Tonsillectomies, adenoidectomies, cochlear implants, retinal
detachments, carbogen therapy, eye and ENT trauma care.
Participates in ongoing discharge planning with other health care team members and
patient/significant other.
Assumes charge nurse responsibility.
Precepts new hired nurses as needed.
