JOB ANNOUNCEMENT - READVERTISEMENT TITLE: CLINICAL NURSE] EMPLOYER: ROCKY BOY HEALTH BOARD SUPERVISOR: CLINICAL NURSE SUPERVISOR SALARY: NEGOTIABLE DOE STATUS: REGULAR FULL- TIME OPENING DATE: CLOSING DATE: NOVEMBER 18, 2016 OPEN UNTIL FILLED PROBATIONARY PERIOD: SIXTY (60) CALENDAR DAYS FROM INITIAL APPOINTMENT LOCATION: ROCKY BOY, MT MAJOR DUTIES: Completes initial assessment of patients at the outpatient clinic. Takes the initial health history on new patients. Takes initial health history on all returning patients based on clinic policy. Coordinates health care needs of all patients through assessment, evaluation, and referral to appropriate resources. Provides emergency treatment such as resuscitation. Start IVs perform EKGs, accompanies patients on ambulance and makes decisions for health care while enroute. Administers prescribed medication, oral, intramuscular, intravenous, etc., and subcutaneous. Ensures patient flow is consistent and according to individual patient needs, routine emergency, etc. Assess acuity of patients and determines level of urgency patients. Orders diagnostic procedures as directed by Physician with physician signing off. Assesses the stable phase of common chronic illnesses such as diabetes, pain and hypertension for changes and determines level of care. Performs complex procedures such as burn and wound dressing and debridement. Assists physicians in surgical procedures such as casting and suturing of accident victims. Teaches individuals and families in home care such as treatments, medications, nutrition and preventive health tests. Provides health counseling to individuals and families. Phone triage with appropriate treatment plan. Each RN on staff share other responsibilities such as employee health, women’s health, autoclaving, ordering supplies, and equipment and doing urgent care checks. Establishes user levels and changes as indicated. Performs other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A minimum of Associate’s Degree or diploma from a professional nursing program approved by a legally designated State accrediting agency. Applicants must have knowledge of the Rocky Boy Reservation as to its geographies to population groups, health needs, and cultural differences. Applicants must have possession of a current license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of Montana. Prefer experience in working with Native American people. DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing Knowledge of Quality Assurance principle and program requirements. Ability to provide individual and family counseling, guidance and health instruction to help patients of clinic operation and maintenance. Skill in providing emergency procedures such as treatment of accident victims. Knowledge/ability to apply professional nursing principles, procedures, and techniques to outpatients with a wide variety of health problems. Will be subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
