PhD positions in Developmental Biology, Genetics or Neurobiology, University of Fribourg, Switzerland I am looking for highly motivated PhD students with interest in developmental biology or neurobiology to join our research group at the Unit of Developmental and Cell Biology, Department of Biology at the University of Fribourg, Switzerland. My laboratory uses the fruit fly Drosophila to investigate fundamental aspects of how the nervous system is developmentally specified to perform its highly specialized functions. We are particularly interested in developmental programs coordinating specification, identification of sensory neurons, establishment of functional identity and developmental plasticity. We apply state of the art molecular and genetic techniques, advanced Drosophila genetics, confocal and super-resolution microscopy. Applicants must hold a masters degree in molecular biology, genetics, developmental biology, neurobiology or related scientific fields. Previous experience in molecular biology, developmental biology, microscopy and genetics is highly desirable. The position is fully funded at an international highly competitive level. Preferred starting date is January 1. 2013 Further information can be obtained from the website of the Sprecher lab or directly by contacting Prof. Simon Sprecher: http://www.unifr.ch/zoology/eng/home/research-groups/sprecher ([email protected]) Please send your complete application (CV, letter of motivation, name and address of two referees) via email to: [email protected]
