Internship: Marketing Intern We are seeking a Marketing Intern to assist with our marketing efforts. The job requires 4-8 hours per week with scheduling flexibility. You will learn the ins and outs of our business and how to make online advertising, public relations, website content development and social media a productive part of our overall marketing efforts. This internship is an unpaid position. Interns are expected to have experience with social media on a personal level; a business level preferred. You must be able to think strategically and see how online advertising, public relations, web content and social media fits into our marketing strategy to increase sales, build long-lasting relationships and provide value to our customers and online community for multiple brands. Interns must be able to assist in formulating social media plans, and then carry them out with the assistance of the Marketing team. You must be able to use online tools to measure and document the impact of advertising, public relations and social media, and then suggest action-steps to increase impact. Interns will be performing the following tasks: Research public relations topics and write press releases Execute online advertising efforts and evaluate effectiveness Manage profiles and pages (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Pinterest, etc.) Write and posts blogs/tweets/updates, etc. Reply to press inquiries, posting comments, messages, etc. Perform research to find articles, stories, resources, or other content that is relevant to our customer base and posts it to our social networks in a manner that invites conversation and interaction Use Google and other analytic tools to assess trends and activity Track the growth and the impact of public relations and social media on our business Skills and attributes interns are expected to have: Excellent written and verbal communication, strong editing skills Knowledge of social media – Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, blogs, etc. Creativity with an eye for design Ability to develop a detailed and professional social media plan Energy, with a desire to come up with fresh ideas on how to grow our online presence Ability to identify a target market and “speak” to that consumer through social media Ability to contribute individually, and participate in cross-functional teams Candidate should maintain a positive attitude under pressure, exhibit a strong work ethic, be flexible and willing to take on multiple tasks. You will become extremely knowledgeable in online communication and understanding of the right tactics to combine online marketing with overarching sales and marketing goals in a professional setting.
