Professional Summary
I have worked successfully in the practice of pharmacy for approximately 29 years. In the
span of my career I have written several pharmacy based articles, continuing education
credits, and educational textbooks.
I am well versed in pharmacy law and the changing tide of the pharmacy profession. I
continue to seek areas that may advance my career by belonging to several pharmacy
associations such as National Pharmacy Technician Association, Pharmacy
Technician Educators Council, and American Society of Health System Pharmacist
and American Association of Pharmacy Technicians
I also have practical experience as a pharmacy technician and a leader. Throughout the
course of my career I have had extensive experience with sterile IV compounding, patient
medication order fulfillment, and computer order entry, as well as extemporaneous
pharmacy compounding. My experience in a leadership/management role includes the
development of educational material for peers, hospital committee member, and project
leader for automated dispensing cabinets
I have continued to develop my career through the completion of my Bachelor's Degree
with Arizona State University and wish to continue my education with the completion of a
Master’s in Biological Sciences at Clemson University in order to have more diversity as
an educator
I have also assisted with management of inventory of pharmaceutical inventory control and
ordering. I am familiar with Group Purchasing Organizations as well as 340B Title X
concerning drug discounting. I also have knowledge of request for proposal. I also have a
great deal of experience with medical software programs, such as MediTech, as well as
Microsoft Office, Word and Apple iOS software
My further career plans include developing several educational textbooks, including a text
dealing with ethics and professionalism for the pharmacy technician and patient
medication safety and risk management; highlighting automated dispensing cabinets. I will
also continue to seek further education in pharmacy law, as I consider this to be a
specialization within my career field experience
My most recent career development comes as the Program Coordinator for the Pharmacy
Technician Program offered by Hagerstown Community College. I have found a niche in
education and believe admittance to Clemson University’s Master’s in Biological Science
will only enhance my experience and knowledge as an educator
