Guidelines and Responsibilities
Thank you for applying to Worcestershire Dancing 2015. This document relates to all
schools and colleges wishing to apply.
Selection Process






Submit application form and DVD or URL to your film by Friday 24 April 2015.
Any applications received after the deadline date will not be considered for the
performance.
Fi Hay will send you an email to let you know we have received your application.
A panel of judges will then meet and shortlist schools and colleges.
We are aiming to let you know the results the week commencing the Monday 4
May 2015.
Performance day is Thursday 9 July 2015
What to expect if you're selected for Worcestershire Dancing 2015
Each




school will:
Be invited to Artrix, Bromsgrove on Thursday 9 July 2015.
Experience a day and evening full of dance.
Access behind the scenes in a professional theatre.
Have a chance to meet, network and socialise with other schools and colleges
from Worcestershire.
 Have a technical and dress rehearsal on Artrix’s professional theatre stage.
 Celebrate dance by showcasing their talent in the evening performance to the
general public.
Chaperones:


Schools and colleges are responsible for chaperoning their students taking part.
You can rotate and change chaperones but must have enough throughout the
day and evening.
Chaperones won’t be able to watch the performance in the evening due to
looking after their group backstage, but will have the opportunity to watch
technical and dress rehearsals.
Transport


Please arrange transport for your students to the Artrix, Bromsgrove. You can
organise parents to pick up after the performance if you like.
Dancefest will give you an arrival time, which will allow you book coaches in
advance. Please note that all schools are responsible for paying their own
transport costs.
Other important information:





It is important for schools and colleges to be on time for their technical, dress
and performance.
There may be opportunities to leave the premises but we ask groups to sign in
and out and that schools and colleges continue to be responsible for their
students.
As part of the day, teachers and Dancefest staff will be responsible in guiding
the dancers through a technical rehearsal. This includes practising, getting on
and off the stage, spacing the dance, rehearsing the dance with stage lights and
music.
Schools are responsible for bringing music, costumes, props on the day.
All schools will have a dress rehearsal in full costume prior to the evening show
and have an opportunity to watch one another.
Performance

This is a public performance and we encourage you to invite family and friends
to the performance.
Ticket prices are: £6.50/£4.50, family ticket £18
