Role Profile Template & Guidance ROLE PROFILE – Digital Marketing Executive Department: Ecommerce – Digital Marketing Reports To: Ashwin Naiksatam – April 17 Salary: Hours of Work: £25 – 30k 37.5 Hours (Monday – Friday / 9am – 5.30pm) – This is optional Scope/Size of Role: Location: Assists the Head Of Digital Marketing deliver the marketing strategy within budget and to targets. London Support Centre Main Function: To assist the Head of Digital Marketing implement the online traffic driving strategy for Maplin.co.uk Responsible for record keeping, analysis and communication within the business and also with the 3 rd party marketing agencies. Key to ensuring activity is maximising the spend and continually looking to drive up the return on monies invested. Key Responsibilities: 1. Work closely with the Head of Digital Marketing to deliver against the commercial objectives 2. Analyse and monitor performance to report to the wider business, and in order to optimise the return of the marketing budget 3. Compile detailed briefs for the 3rd party agencies in order for them to support and hold regular reviews to ensure performance levels being met Skills: Excellent communicator at all levels Genuine interest and passion for online retail, supported with an understanding of the role in a multichannel context Understanding of the digital marketing channels and the different roles they play Analytical approach to reviewing data to inform strategy Eye for detail to ensure briefs are accurate and signed off in a timely manner Ability to manage multiple priorities and deal with ambiguity Good under pressure, especially from other internal departments competing for attention Desire to improve the experience for our customers while also driving the commercial performance Education / Experience: Degree or similar level of education Strong agency management, with proven ability to drive for results Understanding of the digital channel management and optimisation – experience in one or more of the following (digital display / paid or natural search / affiliates / paid social) Experience in online marketing Strong experience in online marketing channels, including mobile marketing, with proven ability to deliver business results Experience in analysing data and implementing change as a result Proven project and campaign manager with evidence of strong delivery against targets Behaviours: Creativity and innovation in their thinking Action orientated and results driven That they put the customer first That they work to deliver the highest possible service That they are committed to the development of others That they have the ability to challenge what has previously been in place A search for new ways of doing things Additional accountabilities Supports the Head of Digital Marketing to optimise the digital marketing plan for Uk&I for maplin.co.uk – continually reviewing and optimising activity, budgets and ultimately results Works closely with marketing and trading teams to understand business and customer priorities (commercial, brand, external) to enable consistency of messaging, appropriate channel mix and efficiency of marketing spend Day to day analysis of all digital marketing channels for UK&I including paid & natural search, affiliates, digital display and paid social Briefs content team as required for on-page requirements, content refreshes and best practices and briefs in digital enterprise team for any technical & tagging requirements, and best practices Works with the marketing team to define channel optimisation requirements for content led digital marketing channels for Uk&I Monitors activity, overall channel performance and budget on an ongoing basis to ensure daily, weekly and monthly targets are being achieved, taking corrective action where required Responsible for sharing media and creative best practice across the business to drive ongoing result optimization and efficiencies Work closely with stakeholders and analytics teams to identify synergies, maximise cross channel optimisation and support a test and learn culture Works closely with insight and analytics functions to develop a deep understanding of the maplin.co.uk customer base including new versus retained customers, taking ownership for continually evolving the plan to ensure we’re attracting the right customer mix Ensures the appropriate tracking and reporting is in place for all campaigns Works with wider stakeholders such as buyers, to identify synergy opportunities with suppliers continually looks to external benchmarks to identify best practice and marketing innovation Manages product feeds and reviews at regular intervals to improve alongside 3rd party supplier Owns the Google My Business locations, and is the custodian of Google presence for all store locations, ensuring accurate, high quality data and information for our customers
