Quick Facts about Greek
Mythology Today
 The famous symbol of Nike shoes is a check mark. Few people know
that it really represents the wings of the goddess Nike, after whom the
brand is named. Nike is the goddess of Victory. It is said that during a
battle, whichever side of the battlefield she would fly over, that army
would be the victor.
 Starbucks' logo is a very common sight. However, the logo is a Siren.
Sirens came from the Odyssey. They were known to have a hypnotic
voice that lured sailors to their deaths.
 The mascot of many universities, including California State University,
Illinois Wesleyan University, and University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh is the
same as a famous group of mythological characters. The mascots are
mainly Titans from Greek mythology.
