Have you ever had the flu? What is the
flu? Explain.
Come up with 3 things that you could do
to protect yourself from getting the
flu.

Malaria – 100,000 Americans died from World War 1 & World
War 2
Smallpox – Killed nearly 90 million Native Americans dating back
to the 1500s

Spanish Flu of 1918 – Killed between 50 to 100 million people

Tuberculosis (TB) – Affects 8 million people per year



