The Empires of Mesopotamia Project
Introduction:
Mesopotamia was home to many of the inventions that shape our world today. Some of these “firsts”, such as
the wheel and written language were good. Others were not so good, such as the development of conquest
through warfare and the formation of Empires.
Task:
It will be the task of you and your group to explore 1 of 4 major empires (Akkadian, Babylonian, Assyrian and
Neo-Babylonian) that fought for control throughout the ancient history of Mesopotamia. As a group, you must
conduct research in order to find out what each empire did to create a culture, organize society and build a
powerful empire.
Procedure:
You have a lot of freedom in putting your project together. You have the choice of putting together a
powerpoint, googledoc presentation, poster or trifold.
Your presentation must include:
