With a sensational live band and experienced singers, actors and dancers, »FAUST –
The R ock Opera« is performed as an enjoyable rock show, exclusively using the
texts of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Composer and librettist Dr. Rudolf Volz, in cooperation with the production by Manthey Event GmbH, tells the well-known story of
Dr Heinrich Faust in an ingenious manner with over 29 rock and pop songs. The
arrangements, costumes and set are influenced by ‘70s rock music, while the staging
is based on the folk play traditions from the time before Goethe, making the whole
show a cross between a rock concert, musical and folk play. The live show consists
of two halves, running for 65 and 75 minutes including encore.
The Faust story has been around for centuries. It’s a very old plot which has often
been transformed throughout the course of its performance history. Johann Wolfgang
von Goethe made it one of the most prominent pieces in German and world
literature. The performances of »FAUST – Part I« and »FAUST – Part 2« have grown
in scale over the centuries, with music by classical composers.
Having put on almost 600 shows, »FAUST – The rock opera« is the most performed
version of FAUST with original texts ever!
»FAUST – The Rock Opera« is also performed as an event for school students.
The rock opera promises a fun evening with devilishly good entertainment.
