Definition
An international agreement adopted in 1992 at the Rio Earth Summit. It is the framework guiding
the international climate negotiations, including negotiations surrounding REDD+. Its main
objective is the "stabilisation of greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that
would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate system".
