Boosters Club Board Job Descriptions
President-Elect: Accepting the President-Elect position is a three-year commitment to the
Boosters Club. The President-Elect spends one year training and shadowing the President. The
following year is spent as President, presiding over all Boosters Club meetings and managing all
committees. The third year of the term as Past President is spent serving as an advisor to the
Executive Board and chairing the nominating committee.
Treasurer: The treasurer serves a two-year term. The treasurer works with the incoming
president to set the annual budget, maintains the Boosters account and checkbook, oversees all
seed money and cash deposits to Boosters committees, and reimburses committee members
for Boosters-related expenses.
Secretary: The secretary keeps minutes of all executive and full board meetings, and also
distributes agendas and pre-meeting materials to the board members.
BucSports: BucSports is the annual Year-in-Review magazine printed and sent to the Boosters
membership. The BucSports job is two-part. One committee member generally takes photos of
all Country Day sports and collects and assembles the content for the magazine. Graphic layout
is not required—an external vendor is used for the layout. The second committee member
solicits advertisers, collects their artwork, and manages the billing for the ads.
Banquets: The banquet chair is responsible for organizing the Homecoming Family Cookout and
the year-end Coaches’ Appreciation Dinner.
Communications: The communications chair works closely with the president and the school’s
marketing/communications department to promote Boosters events to the Country Day
community. This chair also maintains the membership e-mail database and sends periodic
Boosters e-mail blasts to the membership.
Concessions: Concessions chairs are needed for the fall, winter, and spring seasons, as well as
middle school. These chairs are primarily responsible for ensuring that the concession stands
are fully stocked with inventory for all sporting events on campus. They coordinate with the
team parents to see that volunteers are working shifts in concessions. The fall chairs are also
responsible for working and managing all of the home varsity football games.
Concessions—Special Events: The special events chair assists the seasonal concessions chairs
on special events like tournaments hosted by the school and, in the spring, the Special
Olympics.
Golf Event: The golf chair(s) manage and promote the annual Boosters golf tournament. This
includes soliciting sponsors and players in the event, working with the venue, and coordinating
food.
Membership: The membership chair manages the annual membership drive, which is Boosters’
largest source of revenue. The chair works with a local printer to produce membership
materials and attends several events early in the school year to promote Boosters membership.
They also track the membership in Excel to maintain historical records and trends.
Merchandise: The merchandise chair selects and orders spirit items to be sold and given out at
various sporting events.
Online BucSpirit Team Store: This chair works with the athletic director to develop a list of
items for athletes and parents to order before and during the season.
Photo Buttons: Two chairs work together to produce photo buttons for all middle and upper
school athletes. They photograph all athletes for all three seasons, receive the orders, and fulfill
them. Interest in photography is important.
Tickets: The ticket chairs manage volunteers to collect money at the gate for football games in
the fall and basketball games in the winter.
Spirit—Lower School: The LS Spirit chair manages LS Spirit events during the three athletic
seasons. This position sits on both the Boosters board and the Lower School board.
Spirit—Middle School: The MS Spirit chair manages MS Spirit events during the three athletic
seasons. This chair also coordinates three pizza parties for MS students during the required
parent athletic meetings for each sport season. This position sits on both the Boosters board
and the Middle School board.
Spirit—Upper School: The US Spirit chair manages US Spirit events during the three athletic
seasons. This chair is also responsible for communicating team parent responsibilities to all JV
and varsity team parents. This position sits on both the Boosters board and the Upper School
board.
