Preamble
The Student Leadership Organization of Central Arizona College, Signal Peak Campus,
recognizing the rights, privileges and responsibilities of self-government, desiring to form an
expanded communication system among students, faculty and staff, and aspiring to support
student activities and interests by fostering a spirit of campus unity, do hereby establish this
Constitution.
Article I:
Name
The name of this organization shall be Student Leadership Organization of Central Arizona
College at Signal Peak hereby referred to in this document as SLOCAC.
Article II:
Purpose of SLOCAC
The purpose of the SLOCAC shall be as follows:

To actively represent the best interests of Signal Peak students at all times.
To strive to maintain and expand student rights.
To promote student involvement and participation in extracurricular and social activities as
well as community, state, and national affairs.
To promote leadership roles that will create a cooperative and supportive relationship with
administration, faculty, staff and community members.
To formulate, conduct, and act upon all necessary business relating to SLOCAC as outlined
in this Constitution and Bylaws.
Article III:
SLOCAC Council
Section 1: Composition
The SLOCAC Council shall consist of:

 The Executive Board
 The Student Leadership Council
 Emerging Leaders Organization

Regular Members

Honorary Members (if any)
Section 2: Executive Board
The Executive Board shall consist of appointed currently enrolled CAC students.
The duties and eligibility requirements of the Executive Board are set forth in the bylaws.

Section 3:
Student Leadership Council
The Student Leadership Council shall consist of All official Club Representatives
 Other designated appointed or elected Student Body Representatives.
The duties and eligibility requirements of the Student Leadership Council are set forth in the
bylaws.
Section 4:
Emerging Leaders Organization
The Emerging Leaders Organization shall consist of Emerging Leadership Coordinator
 Four (4) Emerging Lead Representatives
 Ten (10) Residence Life Community Leaders
 Three (3) Commuter Student Leaders
 Other designated appointed or elected Student Body Representatives
 Regular Members
The duties and eligibility requirements of the Emerging Leaders Organization are set forth in the
bylaws.
Section 5: Regular Members
Regular membership automatically belongs to all currently enrolled students at the Signal Peak
Campus.
The rights and limitations of regular members are set forth in the bylaws.
Section 6: Honorary Members
Honorary membership may be conferred upon any non-student by majority vote of the SLOCAC
Student Leadership Council and with the approval of the Executive Board.
The rights and limitations of honorary members are set forth in the bylaws.
Article IV:
Student Leadership Council Meetings
The SLOCAC Executive Board and Advisor shall establish a schedule of regular meetings.
Special meetings may be called in accordance with procedures established in the bylaws. Other
procedural information pertaining to council meetings may be found in the bylaws.
Article V:
Approval Process
The processes by which decisions will be made and approved are set forth in the bylaws.
Article VI:
Selection, Removal and Term of Office for Officers and Representatives

Section 1: Selection Procedures
The procedural guidelines appointments are set forth in the bylaws.
Section 2: Special Appointments
The procedural guidelines for special appointments are set forth in the bylaws.
Section 3: Selection Grievance Procedure
The procedure is set forth in the bylaws.
Section VII:
Grounds for Removal of Officers and Representatives
Officers and Representatives who fail to fulfill their duties and/or become ineligible during the
course of their terms are subject to dismissal. The conditions under which they may be
removed as well as the procedure to be followed are set forth in the bylaws.
Section VIII:
Term of Office
The term of office of all members of the Executive Board are set forth in the bylaws.
Article IX:
Executive Board Budget
The Executive Board is allocated a set amount of funds by the Central Arizona College
Administration. The rights, limitations and process of determining how these funds are spent
are set forth in the bylaws.
Article X:
Student Leadership Council Budget
Within the Executive Board's budget, there is a designated amount of funds earmarked for the Student
Leadership Council. These funds are to be dispersed to recognized student clubs, organizations and
other causes selected by the Council as set forth in the bylaws.
Article XI:
Amendments to the Constitution and/or Bylaws
The Council has the right to make amendments to the constitution and/or bylaws. The process
by which either can be done is set forth in the bylaws.
