FARM RAISED FISH – PERFECT FOR EVERY DIET:
Harrisburg, Pa. – Farm raised fish produced in Pennsylvania and throughout the United
States is your “green” supper solution. In addition to being nutritious and a good choice
for your family, farm raised fish is sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Fish is an excellent source of protein that is low in fat. A 3-ounce cooked serving of fish
provides about 20 grams of protein, or about one-third of the average daily recommended
protein intake. The protein in fish is of the highest quality, containing an abundance of
essential amino acids and is easily digestible for people of all ages.
More than two-thirds of all seafood consumption in the United States takes place outside
the home. Keeping U.S. farm-raised seafood on the supper plate is an important way to a
healthy, nutritious diet.
Buying locally farmed fish helps to ensure the freshness of the product and reduces the
carbon footprint. This local, green connection is ideal for your home and family. The
United States is home to many of the strictest environmental and product safety rules and
regulations thereby assuring you, the consumer, have made a responsible food choice for
your family. This means the consumer should have no fear of mercury levels, antibiotic
usage nor the environment in which the fish were raised.
Pennsylvania ranks fourth nationally in trout production, thus providing an abundant
supply of farm raised fish for you and your family. Having trouble finding a tasty fish
recipe? Visit www.pafeefishing.com for meals you and your family are sure to enjoy!
