THE DESIGN OF BUILDING FIRE MONITORING
SYSTEM BASED ON ZIGBEE WI- FI NETWORKS
Synopsis:
Safety plays a major role in today’s world and it is necessary that good safety system
be implemented in places of Structural Health Monitoring of buildings. The aim of this project
is designing a MEMS based Structural damage cause through various factors, through some
Sensors as a single node. This Sensor node is placed in the critical points in various places in
the building through we make a network and the sensor monitored data transmitted through
Wireless Sensor Network and if the temperature or pressure reach above the threshold value
and Structural damage is pre-detected it automatically alert the environment and also take
necessary step to avoid big disaster that going to occur. This safety system that can be used in
any Constructing and constructed environments
The Sensor nodes detects the maximum threshold level, at the same it calculate where
the structural damage is occurring and remaining time that the building can withstand further
damage. Then we send an interrupt through WSN from microcontroller, based on that we can
control some appliances in host section.
The advantage of this automated detection/alarm system is that it offers faster response
time and accurate detection of an emergency in turn leading to faster diffusion of the situation,
compared to manual methods. This is a very compelling reason that justifies designing such a
safety system.

 Identify status periodically
 Manual operation for transferring information
 Cant able to find the pressure point of the building
 Difficult to senses structural damage
 MEMS are used to get only the axis of the building block
Proposed System:

 Systematic approach for monitoring and control
 Transferring messages through wireless technologies
 Easy way of sensing structural damage and Health monitoring of buildings
 Vibration, pressure and temperature are added with MEMS to the network to improve
accuracy
