Wordpress Blog CMS
The Wordpress Blog Content Management System (CMS) platform will allow you to
control your own website and enter updates in house if desired. We will include one
two-hour training session and account setup for you on the Wordpress platform.
Updates and articles can be added in house or as part of our monthly service.
There are three distinct benefits of the Wordpress platform: One is the intuitive
structure of the Wordpress control panel. While we do provide training, many of our
clients require very little training because Wordpress is easy to use. The second
benefit to Wordpress is that Google places a high value on properly entered
Wordpress pages, and a well-maintained Wordpress website can achieve great
search rankings. We have a group of tested and proven plug-ins that helps maximize
SEO results for ongoing content growth. Third, Wordpress allows you to add
unlimited pages using the structure we create for you. This means you can start with
a few existing pages up front, and add more pages whenever it’s convenient for you.
News & Social Media
The blog CMS allows for easy news updates and/or blog posts, and a seamless
sharing to social media. The Blog CMS will allow you to keep your content fresh,
cross links from your social media post to these pages and back will integrate your
website with your social media strategy thereby presenting a uniform message and
brand.
Calendar of Events
The website design will include a user-friendly calendar of events that is easy to
update. Updates can be made by members of as part of our monthly service.
Responsive Website Design Theme
The theme of your website will be responsive, automatically scaling to fit any device
on which the site is viewed.
We will start with an in-person review of websites and specific features within the
industry that are important to your business; then we’ll create a static image mockup based on our meeting and discussions. After a round of critiquing we will revise
the layout until we’ve agreed on the final tool set that defines your website theme.
Each page of the website starting with the home page will follow a similar design
path, with a similar header, content section, navigation area, and footer. The design
elements will be consistent throughout the website, with the content and display
modules changing based on the content of each page. We believe that mobile devices
are changing the way people interact with websites, and as result we use only nonFlash technology for slideshows and other components, to ensure compatibility with
smart phones, iPads, and other non-Flash devices. Our slideshow technology has
much the same impact as Flash with the advantage of full compatibility.
Your design will incorporate industry best practices and will have a clean, userfriendly navigation structure that encourages visitors to take the next step by
joining the SMC. We’ll incorporate search friendly content along with member
reviews in the form of photos, videos, and text.
Search Engine Optimization
The project will be focused on Google organic search results, and we will approach
that objective in several ways. First and foremost, we will use on-page SEO. As the
search business changes Google is changing the way they index websites, and we’ll
make sure that your site is positioned for results, both in Google and the other
search engines.
The text content of each page will be optimized to reflect current best practices for
SEO. This includes placing page-specific keyword and meta tag descriptions on each
page along with headings and alternate image labels to compliment the content of
that page.
Website Programming
We will use standard, open source programming language (PHP) that is compatible
with the current versions of all the major browsers and smart phones. Open source
programming is important because it allows you to actually own your website in a
meaningful way. With open source code, your website will work on most major
server platforms and it means other programmers can easily edit or improve your
website in the future. We will make sure you’re ready to meet and exceed your
visitor’s expectations in the coming years.
We use an industry-standard page format that utilizes PHP “Include”
components. This allows various components such as a header, footer, and
navigation system to be controlled from one area, which streamlines future updates
and edits. Our work is entirely scalable to allow future growth in any area of your
website. We will not use Flash. We will use HTML and CSS.
Hosting & Security
To ensure that your website is always available and functioning the way it’s
intended, we will provide secure, managed hosting for your website. Our managed
hosting service includes time each month for updates, training, or support. We offer
friendly and helpful tech support on an ongoing basis either on-site, by phone, or via
email. Our business is built around providing excellent support for the websites
that we build and manage.
We do not require long-term hosting contracts, and it is our policy that our clients
will own the programming we provide for them after the bill for that service has
been paid.
We offer two-layer security protection, including SFTP, as well as two-step
authentication for log-in. We will maintain the most updated security plug-ins, and
quickly respond in case of a security breach.
Analytics
Our proposal includes the installation of Google Analytics tracking software to
provide a user-friendly tracking & reporting service that is available online
anytime. This is how we determine how well your inbound links, content, and
search engine rankings are working. This proposal includes setup of a new Google
Analytics account or integration with an existing Google account.
Timeline
Based upon full receipt of required materials, deposit and timely approval of site
components, we anticipate the time line of this project to be approximately ten to
twelve weeks. This timeline is presented as a guide and is entirely dependent on
timely responses and approvals.
Week One
 Site installation; Wordpress installed on host site and connected to new site
