Tonsils
 Tonsils are organs in the back of your throat that catch
all the nasty germs. But whilst there catching all the
germs they have no where to release the, and that is
how people get tonsil eye tis, when the tonsils can’t
release the nasty germs. Lots of people have there
tonsils removed because of some reasons like that or
that their tonsils aren’t stopping the germs and the
person is feeling unwell. Tonsil eye tis is when your
tonsils swell up and brings pain to the person that has
tonsil eye tis.
Spleen
 The spleen is a organ in the middle left part of your body,
and it’s about the size of your fist, it’s a soft and dark red
colour. The spleen has some very important part of the
body, one reason is that it catches abnormal red blood
cells, it can destroy these not normal red blood cells and
use parts from it to make another good healthy new red
blood cell. Sometimes the spleen an be ruptured and not
working any more. The two most common places that the
spleen gest ruptures is in rough sports and car accidents.
 About cells, on the occasion the spleen makes other cells
such as white cells, called macrophages and lymphocytes.
Thymus
 In the central part the body is the thymus, the thymus is
soft and roughly triangular organ, the thymus matures TCells, but the red bone marrow actually produce the
immature T-cells. T-Cells play a very important part, Tcells can take out some of the really nasty stuff such as
bacteria, fungi and viruses.
 In the thymus some T-cells don’t fully mature, and it’s a
fact that every pack of T-cells that get to the thymus, only
about 2% actually leave the thymus fully matured. Most
aren’t able to leave the thymus until fully matured. Even
some T-cells don’t mature enough and are never able to
leave the thymus, so even some of the T-cells die in the
thymus. Because they never matured enough to leave the
thymus.
Hair
 Hair grows almost everywhere, sometimes it plays an
important part, by decreasing the chances of getting cancer
on your head.
 There are two parts to hair on your head, the shaft and the
root. The shaft is the coloured parts that you can see
growing on the top of your head. The root is the part that
the hair is in, it is called the follicle and that is where the
hair grows and stays for the rest of it’s time, until another
young hair comes out to take it’s place.
 In our heads there are special cells called pigment cells,
these cells depend on your colour of hair, as you get older
these pigment cells begin to die and lose their colours, that
is how people get grey or white hair, often people try to dye
there hair to not show that their that old, but still the grey
will replace the coloured and you can’t dye your hair
forever.
Skin
 Skin is the outer part of your body and is also called flesh.
 There are 3 layers of skin the top layer is called the epidermis
that is the skin that you can see all over you. The epidermis
works hard, because it’s the epidermis that keeps all of your
organs in your body.
 The second layer of skin is called the dermis, when you get a
deep scratch you can usually see the dermis from an angle.
 The final layer of skin is called the subcutaneous tissue, in the
subcutaneous tissue is the cold receptors, which is a lot like a
nerve, the cold receptors is what makes things feel cold, in your
skin.
 Under the subcutaneous tissue is other special nerves such as
the: Touch receptors, heat receptors, pressure receptors and
continuous touch receptors.
Nails
 Nail is made from keratin and keratin is the same stuff that
forms your hair, nails are used to protect the end of your
finger from getting irritated and protects the top of the end
of your finger.
 The darker part at the end of your finger nail is called the
lunular (which comes from the Latin word “moon”)
because it is shaped as a crescent if you look at it vertically.
 As well finger nails grow faster than toe nails, and
depending on what handed you are, that side of toe nails
and finger nails will grow a bit faster. In your head is the
brain chooses what handed you will be.
Cancers of the lymphatic system
 One cancer of the lymphatic system, is the lymph
nodes cancer, usually the cancer is spread to the lymph
nodes or sometimes it just starts there, when there is
cancer in the lymph nodes it is called lymphoma.
 Another cancer is common, skin cancer, skin cancer
can be caused by sometimes tanning and sunburns.
Sun burns are the more common way of getting skin
cancer.
 Who would sit in the sun, with a chance of getting skin
cancer just to darken their skin.
Regrowth
 Hair grows out of little tubes called follicle. Where it then sits
just outside of the follicle.
 Skin grows over cuts and scratches and is then called a scab.
Scabs are made over scratches and cuts to sop other germs from
infecting it, when a scab appears it is also there to let the skin
grow back over again, because if there is no scab it well get
infected and it just gives the germs or infection a higher chance
of getting into your body. Because skin stops germs from getting
in, but when there is a scratch it opens up the skin which allows
the germs to get in, so that is when a scab begins to appear.
 Nails grow back from keratin and then newly formed nails covers
the end of your fingers to stop the end of your fingers from being
irritated. Nails don’t grow back super fast, on average when a
finger nail falls of or is taken off, it usually grows about 2
millimetres a month,(on average) it sometimes takes up to 3-6
months.
Summary
 The lymphatic system is about the outer part of the body

and partly inside. The lymphatic system holds all of your
organ's in, so if you didn’t have skin, it would be a mess.
Also if you didn’t have nails the end of your fingers would
get really irritated and go red.
If we didn't have hair we would have a higher chance of
getting cancer on our heads, because having hair protects
our head a little bit.
And if we didn’t have skin we would be a mess, plus we
wouldn’t be able to feel heat, cold, pressure and we couldn’t
feel a continuous touch.
So really the lymphatic is a very important part of your
body.
