Mentor: William Stuckey Student: Alexander Sten Project Description: Alex Sten will be fitting the newest Union2 Compilation supernova data using modified Regge calculus which does not require a cosmological constant, i.e., so-called “dark energy.” If his fit matches that of the concordance cosmology model, then we will have explained the data without accelerating expansion of the universe. This is in opposition to the 2011 Nobel Prize in Physics, which was awarded for “the discovery of the accelerating expansion of the universe” using the Union2 Compilation supernova data.
