Newsletter “A consortium of leading women’s organisations providing expertise on improving the health of all women and girls in England” November and December 2015 WHEC Partner News A Fair Deal For Women – The Fair Deal for Women campaign runs from inside the Women’s Resource Centre. The campaign is the first of its kind, coming from a partnership of 13 leading women’s sector organisations covering a diverse range of issues. It was initially set up as an election the campaign in April on 7 different areas of women’s inequality, with the aim of shaping public and political debate around the election, and as it was a success- it’s been continued. See www.fairdealforwomen.com . We know that women live for longer than men, and in worse health. We also know that they are likely to neglect their own health, and focus on supporting others due to the burden of care. Ask number 4 of Fair Deal is on women’s health. The campaign asks the parliament to research the specific issues that affect women’s health, and use this evidence to develop services to both improve women’s health –and prevent ill health. What can parliament do? Well, they could ensure proper investment in prevention, tackle health inequalities that women and girls face with a national framework, ensure that the evidence used to develop health policy is grounded in the specific experiences of women and girls. Do you think this is fair? We don’t. Please read sign and share www.fairdealforwomen.com and pledge your support.
