PLANNING SERVICES IN MALAYSIA
Objective: To determine the rate of market penetration of licensed financial planners
and financial planning services
1. How many clients are being serviced by your firm for financial planning
services? Please breakdown the total number of your clients based on
whether they are 1high net worth individuals, retail investors or corporate
entities/institutional investors (if any).
Note: The total number of clients should include those that seek modular
plans, full financial plans and those that are only seeking product
recommendations i.e. buying unit trust funds or private retirement schemes
only.

Item C, Part 1 Schedule 7 of the Capital Markets and Services Act 2007 defines High-Net Worth
Individuals as an individual(a) whose total net personal assets or joint assets with his or her spouse, exceed RM3 million or its
equivalent in foreign currencies, excluding the value of the individual’s primary residence;
(b) who has a gross annual income exceeding RM300,000 or its equivalent in foreign currencies per
annum in the preceding 12 months; or
(c) who, jointly with his or her spouse, has a gross annual income exceeding RM400,000 or its
equivalent in foreign currencies per annum in the preceding 12 months.
