WHAT ARE TORNADOES?
Tornadoes are large thunderstorms
that can grow over 40,000 feet
with a column of warm humid
which rises very quickly.
This devastating type of natural
disaster can destroy lots of houses
and buildings.
HOW A TORNADO FORMS
• Tornadoes start as a thunderstorms that have powerful winds ,heavy rain and
sometimes even lightning.
• The moist air from places like Mexico and dry places like Canada creates
instability in the atmosphere.
• When the wind changes direction and the wind changes its speed , this
creates an horizontal spinning effect in the lower atmosphere.
• Rising air changes the horizontal spinning effect to an vertical spinning
effect.
• Most strong and violent tornadoes form within this area of strong rotation.
HOW TO SURVIVE A TORNADO
• Always run as fast as you can as you could be inches behind it.
• Always bring a supply of food because you could die of hunger when
you’re running away from the tornado.
• Always look behind you because you might be running from nothing
or there could be a possible or there might be a way to avoid getting
hit by a tornado behind you and in front of you.
• Always be prepared because a tornado could strike any minute.
