STATE AGE, STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS & STATE LEAGUE
SELECTION CRITERIA








Current Netball NSW registration.
Holding a current or eligible and willing (within the year of appointment) to obtain Netball Australia Development
Coaching Course Accreditation.
Suitability in terms of behaviour, ethics and attitudes to represent the Dubbo Netball Association (DNA).
Highly developed planning and organisational skills.
Highly developed communication skills.
Current First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain before the commencement of the representative season
70% or higher mark in the Online Umpires Theory exam within the last 6 years
Ability to meet the duties and attendance as per the DNA representative policy.
APPOINTMENT PROCESS



The term of appointment for State Age is July 2015 to July 2016.
The term of appointment for State Championships and State League is July 2015 to September 2016.
In the case where the Head Coach withdraws from the position, the Appointments Panel will reconvene to
consider the appointment of the Assistant Coach to the position of Head Coach. The Appointments Panel may
also reconsider the suitability of all other nominees who were part of the initial process. If this is deemed not
appropriate, an approach can be made to suitably qualified coaches to ascertain their availability to take on the
role.
DUTIES










Participate as a Selector on the Selection Panel for team/squad to which you are appointed.
Participate in all DNA nominated selection events.
Liaise with the DNA Coaching Convenor and the Assistant Coach as required.
Prepare, document and deliver coaching sessions weekly to selected team.
With the assistance of the Assistant Coach, Trainee Coach and Team Manager, prepare and coach the Team for
and at, carnivals and the State Age/Championships/League competition.
Liaise with the Team Manager and Representative Convenor regarding training requirements and all logistics
associated with all carnivals and the State Age/Championships/League competition.
Liaise with the DNA Coaching Convenor regarding injuries so that the Selection Panel can be informed.
In consultation with the Assistant Coach and Manager, provide Player and Team Reports to the DNA Coaching
and Representative Convenors at the conclusion of appropriate representative season.
Mentor, provide feedback and support to Assistant and Trainee Coaches at all times.
Head Coaches will be required to submit the following to the DNA Coaching Convenor:
o Training Program – including season training schedule and/or periodisation.
ATTENDANCE REQUIREMENTS








Meetings as determined by the Representative Convenor and/or Coaching Convenor.
Any professional development opportunities as determined by the DNA Coaching Convenor. (e.g. coaches forum,
coaching courses, conferences).
All selection events.
All squad training.
All team training, including games and education sessions.
All carnivals as set by the Head Coach in consultation with the DNA Coaching and Representative Convenors.
State Age, State Championships, State League Competition (whichever applies)
Be available where possible to deliver coach education activities. These are to be mutually agreed to in
consultation with the DNA Coaching Convenor.
ASSISTANT COACH REPRESENTATIVE TEAM

Coaching Course Accreditation, as a minimum.
Suitability in terms of behaviour, ethics and attitudes to represent the Dubbo Netball Association (DNA).
Highly developed planning and organisational skills.
Highly developed communication skills.
Ability to meet the duties and attendance as per this policy.
Be amenable to the philosophies of the Head Coach and the program through being committed to the same
goals.
APPOINTMENT PROCESS



The term of appointment for State Age is July 2015 to July 2016.
The term of appointment for State Championships and State League is July 2015 to September 2016.
In the case where the Assistant Coach withdraws from the position, the Appointments Panel will reconvene to
reconsider the suitability of all other nominees who were part of the initial process. If this is deemed not
appropriate, there will be no further appointment to the position.
DUTIES







Assist the Head Coach with observation of nominated players for the following Representative season during 3-5
DNA Saturday Competition rounds prior to selection days.
Liaise with the DNA Coaching Convenor and the Head Coach as required.
With the assistance of the Head Coach, Trainee Coach and Team Manager, participate and coach the Team for
and at carnivals and the State Age/Championships competition.
In consultation with the Head Coach and Manager, provide Player and Team Reports to the DNA Coaching and
Representative Convenors at the conclusion of State Age and State Championships.
In consultation with the Head Coach, carry out duties as agreed and plan training session sections as required,
including filling in during any possible Head Coach absence throughout the season.



Prepare training sessions to assist development squad players with netball skill development
If the Development Coach possesses a Netball Australia Development OR Foundation Coaching Accreditation as
well as coaching experience if greater than 1 year, participate as a Selector of the Selection Panel to select the
squad and team for the development season.
