The relationship that my design has with urban runoff is the reason that the child
can’t play in the lake. The child is sad that he can’t play in the water because it has
been polluted with yard waste that has made it dirty. This design could appeal to
parents because the more urban runoff the less their children can enjoy the lakes
closest to them. And when parents look at this design they will think about how it
can affect their child. This design would appeal to parents, but would also appeal to
fishers. The dead fish in the lake will inform fishers that urban runoff kills fish. An
annual Minnesotan event, ice fishing, has been threatened because the fishes in the
lakes would be killed from the toxic plant waste. The pollution of lakes in Minnesota
is the focal point of the anti-runoff campaign, and because the lake is polluted it is
preventing people from enjoying lakes for their recreational purposes, such as:
swimming, fishing, ice fishing, boating, water-skiing, etc. I feel that his design would
do best as a billboard or a sign because it’s eye catching and colorful.
