Is Your Office Toxic?
We Can Help
Today's office and commercial environments are seldom without
interior and/or exterior landscaping. A co-ordinated programme of
interior tropical plant displays and exterior landscaping creates a
lasting impression on both your clients and employees, as well as
improving the quality of the air you breath and satisfying peoples
proven psychological need for living Office Plants.
Indoor air pollution and low humidity are now ranked as one of the
top five threats to public health. Everyday while at work in our
offices we are constantly bombarded with toxic fumes, from
carpets, furniture, office cleaning products, computers, printers and
photocopiers. Exposure to these chemicals can result in a general
feeling of being under the weather, dizziness, nausea, blurred vision
and respiratory complaints - or even severe allergic reactions.
Unless combated this can often lead to poor concentration and even
increases in sick leave.
Formaldehyde from tissues, carpets and furniture can cause asthma
and other respiratory problems. House plants have been shown to
remove formaldehyde from the air.
A Spider Plant placed in a small enclosed space can remove 96% of
the carbon monoxide from the air. Carbon monoxide is the toxic
gas found in car exhaust fumes.
Research Shows..
NASA space research, inside airtight space habitats, showed
ordinary house plants had amazing capability is fighting air
pollution. In it’s test, in addition to formaldehyde and carbon
monoxide, houseplants absorbed benzene (found in car exhaust
fumes and cigarette smoke) and trichloroethylene (TCE) or dry
cleaning fluid.
The most effective, apart from spider plants, are plants including
Lady Palm and Parlour palm, Ficus, Peace Lily, Dragon Tree; along
with Boston Fern Chrysanthemum and Gerbera.
