Description de la mission Under the leadership of the Managing Director and in direct contact with the scientific and
technical teams, the «Marketing & Commercial Head» will define the marketing mix, the
commercial and sales policy and implement them into the markets being direct sales,
subsidiaries or partners. This objective could rely on reputable commercial brands, the
comparative qualities of the plant genetic and its quality value. This must take into account the
specifics of the region, the products and markets.
This is an opportunity to join a company on a human scale and integrate fully with the whole
team (17 employees). The «Marketing & Commercial Head» with his team of 3 Commercials,
will also work closely with distribution partners and subsidiaries.

The main responsibilities of this post are as follows:
• Identify the market needs and define the way to respond in the short and long term: oil
market, projects development, benchmark the competition
• Define the commercial strategy: price, range of products, distribution networks, definition of
selling points and corresponding tools, multi-year sales targets and potential gap analysis
• Positioning of the company's image: brand, specific advantages of the products
• Define and implement advertising ideas : communication plans, web, congresses and
events,
• Insure customer loyalty
• Define the supply needs for the production plan
• Contribute to the company's strategy: demand and needs for new products, preparation of
budgets, relationship with the partners for the contract and development aspects
• Definition of a 5/6-year development plan: markets, quantities, mix of products, customers
• Direction of the commercial team (a staff of 3 today). Management of direct trading of seeds,
support to distributors and subsidiaries and monitoring of contractual relations with them.

development of the cultivation of oil palm.
Within the context of international development, PalmElit is looking to recruit a « Marketing &
Commercial Head» to develop its sales to the different categories of users, major
agro-industrial groups of the sector and small planters.

• The candidate must have competences in Agronomy, Marketing and Commercial.
• He/she will have a record of success in similar areas (Agronomy, Marketing and
Commercial), if possible within the field of seed and within an international environment.
• His/her experience and charismatic personality should be recognized by the partners.
• Internally, he/she will be able to work well in a team and inspire confidence in addition to
working well with the breeders and the Sales Department.
• Flexible with regards to international travel.
• The working language is French, but the candidate must be fluent in English with knowledge
of Spanish a plus.
