INTRODUCTION
Political Philosophy is distinguishable from, but related to, political theory, political science, political
theology and social philosophy. It is the study of political affairs in a philosophical way. Peter a. Angeles
defines it as “that area of philosophy that studies the characteristics and problems of people as, in
Aristotle’s phrase, political animals.
Having began in ancient Greece at Athens with Plato and Aristotle, political philosophy is directed
toward the knowledge of the good life, the good society and the good political system. According to Leo
Strauss, it is the attempt to know both t he nature of political things and the right, or the good, political
order”
