Residents Win Expression of Interest
Things to consider before you apply:
To be eligible for funding through the Residents Win program, all projects will be required
to meet the following mandatory requirements:



The identified issue must be in South Australia.
Once the project solution has been developed it must be capable of being delivered
within a reasonable timeframe (ideally within 12 months).
The applicant must be able to incorporate contributions (financial or in-kind) of 50%
of the total project cost. If you are part of this grants process as a volunteer, the time
you contribute will be converted to a dollar amount and be included as an in-kind
contribution.
What will NOT be funded?




A commercial organisation operating on an expected profit basis from the project
One off events / street parties
Group administration fees, wages or salaries
Funding for programs or services that are the core responsibility or function of other
Government agencies including Local Councils.
How will an expression of interest be assessed?




Clear identification of an issue which is aligned to developing people friendly streets
and safer roads.
The project must be able to deliver a road safety outcome to reduce traffic volumes,
vehicle speeds and/or dangerous and inappropriate behaviours.
The expression of interest demonstrates evidence and/or clear reason for why it is an
issue.
The identification of a group or groups in the community that will benefit from
improvements in road safety along the target route/precinct area.
How will a funding submission be assessed?
Residents Win will prioritise projects that best satisfy the following assessment criteria:






Clear project goals, objectives, activities and anticipated outcomes.
Able to deliver long-term road safety outcomes for one of the following:
o Reduce traffic volumes.
o Reduce vehicle speed.
o Reduce dangerous and antisocial behaviours on roads.
Demonstrate community engagement in collecting evidence that a problem exists and
in designing the project solution.
Identification of tools and techniques to promote lasting behaviour change amongst
identified groups in the community.
The project proposal is supported by the land owner, local council planning
authorities, DPTI and local council, if applicable.
The capacity and means to deliver the project and report on progress.


The project delivers value for money.
The applicant is able to incorporate contributions (financial or in-kind) of 50% of the

Reporting and evaluation
All successful grant applicants will be required to provide a detail written report on all project
outcomes in the form of a closing report. Closing reports will be required within 4 weeks
from the conclusion of the project.
DPTI can provide assistance with collecting data to monitor progress of the project.
