MULTICULTURAL GREEK COUNCIL ELECTIONS
2017-2018 APPLICATION
Multicultural Greek Council (MGC) is the governing body for several women’s and men’s social
fraternities at Wichita State University. It oversees the development, programming and assists with
the growth of its chapters.
Each year elections are held to determine the future leadership of MGC. Below is the schedule,
requirements and application for available positions.
APPLICATION GUIDELINES:
1. All responses must be typed. Handwritten applications will not be accepted.
2. Please email the completed application to MGC Advisor Chad Warrick at
[email protected] Subject RE: MGC Application or submit a printed copy to
the Student Involvement Office, RSC 216 marked RE: MGC Applications
3. Applications are due by 12:00pm on Friday, March 31, 2017.
4. Successful applicants will receive a confirmation email of status.
5. Election packets will be emailed to chapters for review on Monday, April 10, 2017 by 5pm.
6. Speeches will be held at the Full Council meeting on Monday, April 24, 2017 at 3:30pm
7. Elections will take place at the Full Council meeting on Monday, April 24, 2017 and will be
formally announced at the 2017 Step Show on Saturday, April 29.
MGC QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Must be in good standing and an active member of an MGC organization.
2. Must have had a Fall 2015 semester minimum of a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale and a cumulative
minimum of 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
3. Serve their term for the 2017-2018 academic year (Step Show Executives).
FRATERNITY AND SORORITY LIFE REQUIREMENTS
Expectations:
 Officers may be asked to attend several meetings to represent the community on the behalf
of MGC and to communicate council interests.
 Each officer will be asked to define 5 office hours to complete council projects and support
general council operations.
 Must attend SI Leaders Retreat May 19-20.
STEP SHOW EXECUTIVES
 To oversee the Step Show and report to the Coordinator of FSL for approval of decisions
made.
 To serve as main contact for teams, sponsors, and vendors.
 To ensure everything regarding the Step Show is done in a timely manner and provide
reports at MGC meetings.
 To ensure all chapters are participating in the required capacity as outlined in Article XI:

To provide information every two weeks task that have been / have not been completed.
To be responsible for the preparation and presentation of contractual agreements between
member organizations and the Council.
In collaboration with marketing department, develop Step Show logo and promotional
materials for the event.
To review and update rules yearly and develop a programming strategy for the year.
To oversee the committees.
Coordinating historical workshop with Step Show/Stepping.
To oversee Step Show budget and accounts.
Step Show executives can participate as a participant and not as an MC for the Step Show.
