Unit 7: electricity
-remember the following:
-Matter is made up of atoms.
-Atom is surrounded by electron.
-Every atom has a nucleus
-Inside the nucleus there are Protons(positive charge) &
neutrons(no charge)& electrons(negative charge).
-Electrons can be pushed from atoms to atoms so they make
other electrons move and flow in a particular direction.
-Each electron carries small amount of energy.
-Electron moves a short distance.
-Electrons move through the wire.
-Electricity is made in a power plant .
-Generators make electricity
-Electric circuit is the pathway by which an electric current
moves.
-Static electricity is that electricity that doesn’t flow.
-Lightning happens when positive and negative charges
jump to each other.
-Safety rules when using electricity:*Your hands should be dry.
*Never put a metal object into an electrical object.
*Don’t put many electrical objects into one socket.
*Don’t use an electrical appliance that is broken.
