Our service Activities Stevenson Day Care and Resource Centre provide day services for adults aged 65 and over, offering a homely and therapeutic environment. We aim to support people to remain in their own homes and to be part of their wider community. There is an ongoing programme of events and person-centred therapeutic activities within day services to meet individual interests and develop skills. These include: Social activities Life stories and reminiscence Music, arts and crafts Cooking and healthy lifestyles Individual interests and therapies We promote: • Independence • Privacy • Choice • Safety • Dignity • Motivation Our objectives are: Meals To assist people to remain in their own home To promote social stimulation and prevent isolation To provide a source for social care and health To promote the maintenance of daily living skills To contribute to rehabilitation To provide specialist care for people with cognitive impairment To provide support and information to carers What facilities are available? Stevenson Day Care and Resource Centre is purpose built to suit the needs of older people. The two storey building has a lift and is fully accessible for people with disabilities. The building is light and airy, has two lounge areas, dining room, kitchen and quiet room for relaxation. Consulting rooms provide privacy and the garden area has seating and raised planting beds. We can cater for up to 20 people each day and are currently open Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.30pm. We offer a nutritious menu with choices available and individual dietary requirements catered for. Light snacks and refreshments are also available throughout the day. How do I access Stevenson Day Care? Referrals for Day Services can be made by contacting North Ayrshire Health and Social Care Partnership at your local office. GP’s and other health care professionals can also make referrals. Following your initial referral you will receive an assessment to identify your individual needs. If this states that you require Day Services, a member of staff from Stevenson Day Care will contact you when a place becomes available. The staff will arrange to visit you at home and can also organise a visit to the centre. Should you decide to attend you will be offered suitable days. How do I get there? Transport may be provided; your assessment will tell us if you need transport to and from Stevenson Day Care. However, your own preferred method of transport may be more suitable for your individual needs.
