Course:
Biology
Dates:
4.20.15 – 4.24.15
What are we learning?
Daily Objective: Students will review cell growth and differentiation and meiosis.
TEKS/AP/Standards: (R) 5A: Describe the stages of the cell cycle, including DNA replication
and mitosis, and the importance of the cell cycle to the growth of organisms. (R) 6G:
Recognize the significance of meiosis to sexual reproduction.
How will we learn it?
Learning Activities: Review of cell cycle and meiosis through writing, drawing, video, and
questioning classroom activities.
How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
Assessment Methods: Questioning over mastery of cell growth and differentiation, and
meiosis.
What do I need to be successful?
Materials: Pen/Pencil, Laptop
What do I need to before next class?
Follow Up/HW: Complete questions over cell cycle. Compare/contrast mitosis and meiosis.

What do I need to before next class?
Follow Up/HW: Begin DNA components.
What are we learning?
Daily Objective: Students will review components of DNA
TEKS/AP/Standards: (R) 6A: Identify components of DNA, and describe how information for
specifying the traits of an organism is carried in the DNA. (S) 6C: Explain the purpose and
process of transcription and translation using models of DNA and RNA.
How will we learn it?
Learning Activities: Students will review DNA components and transcription and translation
process’. View video while completing notes.
How will we tell if we’re learning it correctly?
Assessment Methods: Build DNA and RNA structures. Practice transcription and translation.
