Speed - rate of movement or happening

mechanical energy- the sum of kenetic energy and all forms of
potential energy

elastic energy- energy in a strechted or compresssed elastic object

Heat- the energy transfer between objects because of a difference
in their temperatures

thermal energy- energy stransfomed by heat
chemical energy- energy of chemical reactions: the energy
released or absorbed in a chemical reaction during the
decomposition or formation of compounds
work-energy theorem- When the energy of the body increases,
work is positive.


Transformation- The act or an instance of transforming


kinetic energy- energy of body caused by motion: the
energy that a body or system has because of its motion.

Work- force times distance
Hooke's law- the law stating that the stress on a solid

conservative force- A conservative force is a force with
the property that the work done in moving a particle
between two points is independent of the path taken

Conservation of Energy- It states that the total amount of
energy in an isolated system remains constant over time
