THE LOW PAYMENT KINGS SEEK SPONSORS & GOLFERS FOR UNIQUE GOLF EVENT The Mahalak Auto Group will host their ‘18 Aces to Conquer Cancer’ 3rd annual golf outing, in memory of Frank Messina, to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research and patient aid. The event will take place Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at the Monroe Golf & Country Club in Monroe, MI. The event offers a chance to win a new vehicle for every hole-in-one made. The course will be set up so that every hole is a par 3, play will be best ball scramble. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute for Pancreatic Cancer Research and the Pancreatic Cancer Alliance of Polk County. “The goal of 18 Aces to Conquer Cancer is to raise funds for pancreatic cancer, but also to have a fun time doing it!” said Ralph Mahalak Jr., co-owner of the Mahalak Auto Group. “We are currently looking for interested sponsors, golfers, speakers, and volunteers.” The event will have a shotgun start at 1:30pm. After the round of golf concludes, there will be a dinner with live and silent auctions. “We are trying to raise awareness for pancreatic cancer and we raise funds for pancreatic cancer research,” said Ralph. “It is rarely detected in its early stages, so it is one of the leading causes of cancer death.” Signs and symptoms may not appear until pancreatic cancer is quite advanced and surgical removal isn't possible. 18 Aces to Conquer Cancer aims to spread awareness of pancreatic cancer, while donating proceeds to research and patient aid. Last year’s event was held in Kissimmee, FL and raised over $15,000 for Pancreatic Cancer Alliance of Polk County and the Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute for Pancreatic Cancer Research.
