NAZI A member of the Na9onal Socialist German Workers' Party, which controlled Germany from 1933 to 1945 under Adolf Hitler and advocated totalitarian government, territorial expansion, an9-­‐Semi9sm, and Aryan supremacy APPEASEMENT To yield or concede to the aggressive demands of (a na9on, group, person, etc.) in a peacemaking effort, some9mes at the expense of jus9ce or other principles. BLITZKRIEG A German term for “lightning war,” blitzkrieg is a military tac9c designed to create disorganiza9on among enemy forces through the use of mobile forces and locally concentrated firepower. EMBARGO An official ban on trade or other commercial ac9vity with a par9cular country.
