1. Open an internet browser window; open Powerpoint; open a Word document
2. Go online to mythology sites
a. Bulfinch.org
b. Library links
3. Browse to collect images of your selected character—painted, on coins, statues etc.
Collect images of temples, Greek islands associated with your character, names of the
character written in Greek, etc. Save these images in a folder labeled with the character’s
name.
4. Be sure to keep notes for MLA references as you collect material from various
sources. [Word]

Instructions: Using the deity assigned to you, create a powerpoint presentation (10
slide minimum) that includes the information below:
The name and history of the character, an explanation of how the character came
to exist: father, mother, source of creation (1-2 slides)
The myth, legend, or story that is associated with the character. (3-5 slides)
The lesson contained in the myth or the natural phenomenon explained by the
myth. (1-2 slides)
Words or concepts derived from the name or story of the character.
1-2 slides describing an Olympian god or goddess associated with your character.
(include a picture and factual details about this god or goddess. E.g. the domain of
the god or goddess, the symbol, birth details, and character traits.
A five-question, multiple choice quiz (indicate answers on the slide subsequent to
the question) about the facts of your presentation.
Works Cited of at least three sources including Hamilton’s book. (1 slide)
Powerpoint slides are meant to function as the visual part of your overall presentation; do
not cram them with paragraphs of information. Use bullets and fragments to highlight
important details, but be sure to have more to say than is written on the slides.
You will be teaching the class what you learned, so practice unfamiliar words and be
certain of the information you plan to share. Know the names of your classmates so you
can call upon them when you present the quiz section of your presentation.
BE SURE TO SAVE THE PRESENTATION; either email to yourself or save to
your documents
At the conclusion of your presentation you will turn in:
1. Hard copy of slides (IMPORTANT: Print them six to a page; ask me how to do
this before you print)
2. Works Cited list – copy and paste the slide with information about each source
that you use (including any texts or online museum sites). (IMPORTANT: open
a Word document and paste into it the web addresses that you use to gather
information)
