American History II HW 2016-2017 Unit 6 p. 1/6 #28 Mapping World War II Using the power point, Mapping World War II, record the important information about the major battles and important conferences in the spaces provided on the worksheet. Be sure to label the map with the name of the battles and the date beside the appropriate numbers. For the European Theater of Operations: 1. Neatly label all the countries that are on the map. 2. Identify all the countries controlled by Nazi Germany in 1941 by marking them with a RED Swazitka. 3. Identify all the countries/colonies controlled by Fascist Italy in 1941 by marking them with a GREEN dot. 4. Write ETHIOPIA on the bottom of the map near the RED SEA and color the word GREEN to identify it as a conquest of Fascist Italy. 5. Label the ROME-BERLIN AXIS by drawing a line between the capitals of Germany and Italy. 6. Identify Spain with a BROWN dot and label it as a Fascist government friendly to Nazi Germany. 7. Identify all the countries controlled by the Soviet Union with an ORANGE hammer and sickle. 8. Identify all the countries that were colonies of Britain by marking them with a BLUE dot. 9. Identify all the countries that were colonies of France by marking them with a PURPLE dot. 10. As you label the battles and campaigns of the war, draw arrows toward the ultimate goals of Rome and Berlin. For the Pacific Theater of Operations: 1. Neatly label all the countries that are on the map. 2. Identify all the countries/territory (including the islands and areas of the Pacific Ocean) controlled or occupied by the Japanese by marking them with a YELLOW sun. 3. Draw a dark line around all the territory controlled by Japan to signify the largest extent of their empire. 4. Identify all the colonies of Great Britain in Asia by marking them with a BLUE dot. 5.
