recognition from Council on Tall Building and Urban Habitat,
CTBUH in 2004. The observatory, located on the 89th floor,
opened in March, 2005. The first tenant of the office tower
moved in April, 2005. The tower has held the record as the
world’s tallest building between the period of December 31,
2004 through to January 4, 2010 and is currently the world’s
4th tallest building in operation. On top of that, TAIPEI 101
is the world’s tallest green building and in the Pacific Rim
with the largest damper and the fastest elevator in the world.
TAIPEI 101 tower is an invaluable asset to the company,
the management mean to responsible for the operation and
management of the office tower, the shopping mall and the
observatory. The organization’s scale, company structure or
ownership has not undergone significant changes during the
reporting year.

businesses, was established in October 1997 as an effort
to promote the government’s policy of building an “Asia
Financial Center” in the then newly planned central business
district – Xinyi district. The Company signed the contract with
Taipei City Government to build Taiwan’s first large BuildOperate-Transfer (BOT) project. Once obtaining the land
development right from the city government, started to build
a 508m high, 101 floors above ground and 5 floors below
ground multifunctional building - TAIPEI 101 complex an
office tower and a shopping mall. TAIPEI 101 Mall opened in
November 2003 and the office tower completed in December
2004. The building received the tallest building in the world

The tallest office tower in Taiwan, with office space situated between 9F and
84F. Excluding mechanical floors and miscellaneous, the office tower offers
62 floors of office space that accounts for 181,545.45 m² of leasable floor
area. The 35th floor is the amenities floor with a service center, Chunghwa
Telecom, convenience store, coffee shop, restaurants, courier service, dry
cleaning, pharmacy, dentist and travel agency to facilitate tenants’ daily
needs. A conference center is available for rent on 36F along with a
business lounge break-out tenants. 85F and 86F are leased to three restaurant operators.

Foreign tenants account for approximately 70% of total tenants; while
domestic tenants account for 30%. Tenants operate businesses including
financial services, food and beverage services, high-tech info-telecom,
professional consultants, general service industry, construction business,
manufacturing business and foreign representative offices. There are

m². B2F-B4F are car parking levels.
The shopping mall tenants include international brand flagship stores,
Watch & Jewelry Salon, fashion designers’ stores, high-end restaurants,
supermarket, bookstore and fitness center. Other retailers include fashion,
cosmetics, household products, electronics, convenience stores, gourmet
restaurants and coffee shops. Over 10 million customers visit the mall in a
year.
