Consequences of Treatment Programme Intern
Project Background
Want to experience life in a large national charity and make a different to the lives of people affected by
cancer? Our team aim to improve outcomes in 3 ways for people who have, or who are at risk of developing,
consequences of cancer treatment. Firstly, by improving our understanding of the scale of the problem - this
involves working with researchers to gather new evidence. Secondly, we aim to empower patients and
influence professionals so that everyone has the right information and resources to allow patients to get the
best care and support possible. Thirdly, we aim to improve the way services are delivered within the NHS, by
evaluating innovative ideas and promoting effective solutions, so that people with consequences of cancer or
its treatment get the specialist help they need. For more information about the work we do visit our web
pages: www.macmillan.org.uk/cot
Why do we need you?
You will be volunteering as part of the busy Consequences of Treatment Programme team, within the dynamic

Macmillan estimate that at least one in four people living with cancer (over 500,000 in the UK) experience a
wide range of long-term health conditions following cancer and its treatment. We need you to help us raise
