• A full time G.P. is only going to see 8-9 new cases of cancer per year
• Nearly 40% of lung cancer patients are diagnosed through A+E
• Almost 10% of people diagnosed with colorectal cancer die within 1
month of diagnosis
• The incidence of prostate cancer is higher in Surrey that the South
East but lower than England
• 96% of breast cancers are diagnosed through screening(approx.
20%)TWW referral(approx. 40%) and other referrals
• Malignant melanoma is the 8th most common cancer in Surrey
