MAP KINASE (MAPK) SIGNALING PATHWAY
Inside cells, the MAPK pathway is a chain of many proteins, including BRAF (made by the BRAF gene), MEK and ERK.
Changes to the BRAF gene can result in abnormal signaling in the MAPK pathway and stimulate the
growth of melanoma cells. Medicines that target the MAPK pathway aim to slow cancer cell growth.
