AR conjugations
* Some reflexive verbs in Spanish follow regular conjugation patterns
for er/ir/ar verbs.
To conjugate a REGULAR verb, you simply:
* remove the ending of the infinitive (the unconjugated verb)
* add the appropriate ending to the verb stem- based on the subject
of the verb and the kind of verb it is.
For example:
____bañar________= the infinitive * Note ‘bañar’ is an AR verb
____yo_______= the subject of the verb
____bañ_______= the verb stem
bañar (yo) = bañar + o --___yo baño ____
*
* Bañar- to bathe
* Bañarse- to bathe oneself
* Yo baño
* Tu bañas
* Él/ella/Usted baña
* Nosotros bañamos
* Vosotros bañáis
* Ellos/ellas/Ustedes bañan
* Yo ME baño
* Tu TE bañas
* Él/ella/Usted SE baña
* Nosotros NOS bañamos
* Vosotros OS bañáis
* Ellos/ellas/Ustedes SE bañan
To conjugate a reflexive verb is much like conjugating
a non-reflexive verb. The only difference is that you
add the reflexive pronoun.
* Verb endings for regular AR verbs:
*Yo-____o____
*Tú- ____as____
* Él/ella/Usted- ___a___
* Nosotros- ___amos____
* Vosotros- __áis______
* Ellos/ellas/Ustedes- __an____
*
*Afeitarse
*Cepillarse
*Lavarse
*Ducharse
*Levantarse
*Maquillarse
*Mirarse
*Peinarse
*Quitarse
*
These verbs are all
regular AR verbs.
They follow the regular
pattern of AR
conjugation.
Once you memorize
this pattern, you can
apply it to any regular
AR verb.
* Now, complete the conjugations of the regular
AR verbs on your reference sheet.
* Once you practice one or two verbs, you will
notice that it becomes easier.
* It is simply a matter of memorizing the
pattern.
