Multiplying Integers
• Multiply the absolute values of the integers.
• If both integers have the same sign, the
product is positive.
• If they have different signs, the product is
negative.
Henry multiplied two negative numbers.
Franklin multiplied a negative and a positive
number. Franklin claims his product is greater
than Henry’s because both Henry’s numbers are
negative and negative numbers are less than
positive numbers. What would you tell
Franklin? Explain.
