forms which are generally genotoxic and the process would generate
hazardous waste raising environmental concerns. We approach this
problem by using the novel catalytic “hydrogen borrowing strategy”
that converts the alcohols in situ to an active intermediate that react
with another suitable molecule to form the desired product. In this
project, we target to design cost-effective catalysts and greener
technologies for batch and continuous process for the alkylation of
amines using non-hazardous and readily available alcohols.
