Description (250 words maximum, split into at least two paragraphs)
In a few sentences, please describe the purpose, scope and essential argument of your book.
Contents
Please set out a provisional list of chapter titles followed by brief descriptions of the content.
Projected completion date
When would you expect the final complete draft of the book to be ready? Please avoid being too
optimistic! If your book is accepted for publication, this is the date that will be used in your contract.
Projected extent
Approximately how many words will you need? Please be sure to include all notes and references plus
the bibliography.
Illustrations
Do you need to include any in the book, and if so how many and of what type (e.g. line drawings,
diagrams, black & white or colour photos)? Please note that all illustrations must be supplied as
high-resolution scans on disc, and that permissions must be cleared by the author or volume editor
before production can begin.
Commendations
Please supply any positive comments you may have received for your book from other scholars, and/or
suggest names and addresses of suitable people who may provide a positive report that could be used
for publicity purposes. If appropriate, please include at least one from North America.

Marketing opportunities
Do you have any other suggestions as to how your book might be promoted? For example, is there a
particular forthcoming event or anniversary to which it could be linked? Are you planning any speaking
engagements at which it could be advertised or sold? Is there a journal or magazine that might run a
feature article on the book?
