AF ZOOM 24-105mm F3.5-4.5(D)
AF ZOOM 100-300mm F4.5-5.6(D) APO TELE
AF MACRO 100mm F2.8(D)
AF 85mm F1.4(D)
Minolta is pleased to introduce the addition of four new zoom lenses to its growing line of Dynax series
models; the AF 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5(D), AF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6(D) Apo, AF100mm f/2.8(D) Macro,
and AF 85mm f/1.4G(D).
Fully utilizing Minolta’s mechanical expertise, all the lenses are manufactured to offer excellent focusing
operation and high-quality images. Especially, the AF 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5(D) boasts striking features
such as an extra-compact body, outstanding image quality and exceptional 4.3X zoom ratio.
With the addition of the new lenses, Minolta is going to further provide high-performance lenses.

AF ZOOM 24-105mm F3.5-4.5(D)
Offers High-Quality Images and Dynamic 4.3X Zoom
In the Super-Compact Body
The AF 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5(D) is a standard zoom lens that offers an exceptional zoom range of
24-105mm and compactness. In addition to the versatility, it provides excellent focusing operation and
high-quality images throughout the zooming range.
The AF 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5(D) provides excellent operation for auto and manual focusing. During
autofocusing, photographers can hold the camera in good balance and concentrate on framing, thanks
to Minolta's Auto Clutch Mechanism, which does not rotate the focusing ring during AF drive. There is no
need to operate any switch to activate the mechanism. In manual focusing, the wide ring is easy to
control, and rotates smoothly. The three aspheric surfaces (in two elements) reduce the total number of
lens elements and thus shorten the length of the optical system. Optimally arranged, these aspheric
lenses reduce spherical aberration, sagittal flare and coma. The result is a super-compact lens with
high-quality images throughout the zooming range. In addition, this new lens features a circular aperture
for beautiful rendition of a defocused image.
In combination with the Dynax 7, the AF 24-105mm f/3.5-4.5(D) supports the ADI (Advanced Distance
Integration) flash metering, by providing precise distance information utilizing its built-in distance
encoder. Highly accurate flash-metering performance can be obtained.
Finally, this new lens comes standard with a large, petal-type lens hood for extraneous light shielding.

AF ZOOM 100-300mm F4.5-5.6(D) APO TELE
Lightweight and Compact 3X Telephoto Zoom
The AF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6(D) Apo is an easy to carry, easy to handle lightweight and compact 3X
telephoto zoom. It offers high-quality images for telephoto shooting.
The AF 100-300 mm f/4.5-5.6(D) Apo provides excellent operation for auto and manual focusing. During
autofocusing, photographers can hold the camera in good balance and concentrate on framing, thanks
to Minolta's Auto Clutch Mechanism, which does not rotate the focusing ring during AF drive. There is no
need to operate any switch to activate the mechanism. The focus-hold button allows for stopping AF
drive and releasing the shutter at the desired position. The button can also be customized to provide
different functions such as continuous autofocus or central sensor selection, when the lens is attached
to a camera body with Custom Functions. In manual focusing, the wide ring is easy to control, and
rotates smoothly. This new lens inherits the optical system of the renowned AF 100-300mm f/4.5-5.6
Apo, which provides high image quality. The two low-dispersion AD (anomalous dispersion) glass
elements correct the chromatic aberrations that plague telephoto lenses. As a result, the lens provides
fine images with excellent contrast and sharpness.
Furthermore, AF 100-300 mm f/4.5-5.6(D) Apo supports the Dynax 7’s ADI (Advanced Distance
Integration) flash metering by providing precise distance information from the built-in distance encoder.
Highly accurate flash-metering performance can be obtained.

AF MACRO 100mm F2.8(D)
High-Performance Macro Lens with Excellent Focusing Operation
The AF100mm f/2.8(D) Macro is a high-performance mid-telephoto lens with continuous macro
capability as close as 0.35m, and the maximum magnification of 1X.
The AF100mm f/2.8(D) Macro provides excellent operation for auto and manual focusing. During
autofocusing, photographers can hold the camera in good balance and concentrate on framing, thanks
to Minolta's Auto Clutch Mechanism, which does not rotate the focusing ring during AF drive. There is no
need to operate any switch to activate the mechanism. In addition, the focus-hold button allows the
photographers to stop the AF drive and release the shutter at the desired position. The button can also
be customized to provide different functions such as continuous autofocus or central sensor selection,
when the lens is attached to a camera body with Custom Functions. Furthermore, the focus-range
limiter substantially increases focusing speed.
In manual focusing, the wide focusing ring is easy to control, and rotates smoothly.
A closer look into the lens system reveals the quality optics adopted in the highly regarded AF 100mm
f/2.8 Macro. This lens is not only ideal for shooting flowers or small animals, but also delivers fine
portraiture and landscape images. The ”double floating” focusing method corrects curvature of field,
curvilinear distortion, spherical and other aberrations to provide fine images at any distance. In addition,
the 9-blade, circular aperture produces a smooth and natural rendition of defocused images, as well as
nearly circular shapes of point sources of light such as reflection of the morning dew.
Finally, the AF100mm f/2.8(D) Macro supports the Dynax 7’s ADI (Advanced Distance Integration) flash
metering by providing precise distance information from the built-in distance encoder. Highly accurate
flash-metering performance can be obtained.

MINOLTA AF 85mm F1.4(D)
High-Quality G-Series Lens with Excellent Focusing Operation
The AF 85mm f/1.4G(D) ranks among the top in the world of high-quality optics. This new lens features
a maximum aperture of f/1.4 providing the photographers with a greater choice of
shutter-speed/aperture combinations.
The AF 85mm f/1.4G(D) provides excellent focusing operation for auto and manual focusing. During
autofocusing, photographers can hold the camera in good balance and concentrate on framing, thanks
to Minolta's Auto Clutch Mechanism, which does not rotate the focusing ring during AF drive. There is no
need to operate any switch to activate the mechanism. In addition, the focus-hold button allows the
photographers to stop the AF drive and release the shutter at the desired position. The button can also
be customized to provide different functions such as continuous autofocus or central sensor selection,
when the lens is attached to a camera body with Custom Functions. In manual focusing, the wide
focusing ring is easy to control, and rotates smoothly.
The AF 85mm f/1.4G(D) inherits the quality optics adopted in the highly reputed AF 85mm f1.4 G. The
”floating” focusing method provides images with maximum sharpness over the entire surface of the film
and excellent contrast at any distance. This method, combined with the 9-blade circular aperture,
ensures an extraordinary capability for rendering smooth and natural transition from the sharpest to
defocused image areas, making the AF 85mm f/1.4G(D) a perfect choice for portraitures. Especially,
the aperture is formed nearly circular around the smallest f-number.
Finally, the AF 85mm f/1.4G(D) supports the Dynax 7’s ADI (Advanced Distance Integration) flash
metering by providing precise distance information from the built-in distance encoder. Highly accurate
flash-metering performance can be obtained.
