Geography
Location
This picture was chosen because it showed the relative and exact location of
Russia in one picture. The country of Russia is north of Ukraine, west of Kazakstan
and east of Poland. Russia is between 40 and 140 degrees latitude. Russia is also
between 50 and 70 degrees longitude. Also, this picture was selected for its relatively
small size.
Place
This picture was fittingly chosen because it showed how architecture and
housing style helped to distinguish a certain place from other places. The flowers in
the window and peeling paint might suggest rural living. You might also take out of
this the patterning to be of al older era.
Human/Environment Interaction
The pollution and gritty urban reality all to well is an example and how people
(like us) have drastically and harmfully changed the earth to our benefit. The Factory,
heaving up smoke and looming over the city. Cars and roads, wires and buses,
wreaths hung to celebrate the seasons. The earth in total upheaval.
Movement
Movement is by definition, the spreading of goods, news and materials from
one place to another. We chose this picture because it showed a mass movement of
goods (some kind of farm machines or such). Although we were not sure whether
they were stationary or moving, we had to assume, because picture don’t move.
Region
Although time had run out before we could paste this picture on, we had a
picture of people at a beach on some body of water, with a factory in the background.
This can be a region because of the fact that all of the people seemed to be of the
same ethnic background and would most probably be of the same religion. Also, a
factory-industrial area or region, could be a defining factor.
