The Harding Years
During the decade of normalcy, Americans began a gradual retreat from the reforms and
internationalism of the Wilson administration. Policymakers seemed to turn toward the past,
while individuals withdrew into their private pleasures and comforts. Leaders of business and
finance helped shape the Harding administration’s domestic policies.
