What is the difference between a CC-16 24 V and a CC-16 12 V?
The CC-16 24 V runs on 24 Volts AC or DC, does not have an Inhibit input, but does have circuitry to
convert the 24 Volts AC into DC and drop the voltage down to the 12 Volts the circuitry runs on. The CC16 12 V does not have the circuitry to adjust the operating voltage, but does have an Inhibit input that
prevents the Acceptor coil from operating.
What is the difference between a CC-16 13 V and a CC-16 12 V?
The CC-16 12 V Inhibit input prevents the Acceptor coil from operating, but still generates a Sense output
when a good coin is accepted. The CC-16 13 Volt (intended for IGT) has a different connector(Molex KK100 series instead of the usual JST connector) and the Inhibit input also prevents the Sense signal from
being generated.
What signal names go to a CC-16 12V type coin comparator?

What completes the connection to make the Hopper Level Probe go to ground? The coins in the
hopper.
Are all heads on WBA-11's, WBA-12's and WBA-13's interchangeable?
Yes. The only circuitry in the head is analog amplifiers for the sensors. The difference between WBA's is a
matter of memory capacity and type of memory.
What is the defining difference between a WBA-12 and WBA-13?
WBA-12 has Flash memory. WBA-13 has an EPROM.
What is the ID number for the EPROM in a WBA-13 used in a Williams game? ID044/045W
How do you calibrate a WBA-12 or WBA-13?
Set DIP switches 1,2,3 and 4 on, 5,6,7,and 8 off. Power on. Insert the black and white test paper. It should
read it back and forth a few times, then eject it.
After calibrating a WBA-12 or WBA-13 the LED (or bezel) makes a sequence of nine flashes, pause,
nine flashes, pause (repeats). What does this mean?
?

The "-001N" version is made for NETPLEX (IGT).
Why does a fluorescent lamp start to blink before it goes out?
As the tube gets older it gets air inside. The air causes the voltage across the tube to increase. The starter
has a voltage trigger slightly higher than the fluorescent lamp. As the tube gets old the voltage across it
approaches the trigger voltage of the starter. When the starter kicks in it conducts, turning off the
fluorescent lamp. When the starter warms up the trigger voltage of the tube lowers below the trigger of the
starter and the light comes on again. The blinking continues until one of the heating elements at the end of
the tube finally burns out, turning the tube off for good.
How does pulling current from the secondary of a transformer cause an increase in primary current?
The current in the primary depends on the inductance of the primary winding of the transformer. One of
these characteristics that determines inductance is permeance of the core which depends on the
concentration of the magnetic field in the core. When we pull more current from the secondary it changes
the magnetic field of the secondary winding which changes the flux in the core, which lowers the
inductance of the primary, which causes more primary current to flow.
